India Allocates 1,000 Online Scholarships for Afghan Students for 2026-2027 Academic Year

The Government of India has announced that it will provide 1,000 online scholarships for Afghan youth for the 2026–2027 academic year. These scholarships are offered through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the “e-Vidya Bharati” program and cover all educational expenses.

According to the published information, eligible Afghan applicants can pursue online studies at Indian universities in fields such as management, business, computer science, and other disciplines. The program finances tuition fees, registration, exams, and issuance of graduation certificates.

The program organizers state that the objective of providing these scholarships is to increase access to higher education for Afghan youth. This comes amid extensive restrictions imposed by the Taliban administration on higher education, especially the barring of girls from attending universities, making alternative educational opportunities for the country’s youth increasingly important.

According to official announcements, the deadline to apply for these scholarships is July 24 of this year. Applicants must complete and submit their documents and applications by this date.
