The General Department of Examinations under the Taliban administration has announced the results of the 1405 public university entrance exam, revealing that 74,500 candidates have been admitted to universities and higher education institutes across the country. The results were published on Monday, 15 Saratan, during a meeting at the Taliban Information and Media Center.

According to officials from the department, nearly 120,000 candidates participated in the entrance exam, which was conducted in four stages across different provinces.

According to the official announcement, Rashid from Parwan province secured first place with a score of 360. Anamullah from Kunar province came in second with 358 points, and Abdulhadi from Paktia province ranked third with 356 points.

The Taliban administration stated that in the first stage, candidates from 15 provinces participated; in the second stage, candidates from 18 provinces took the exam. The third stage included twelfth-grade graduates from Kabul province, while the fourth stage covered candidates who missed earlier stages, graduates from abroad, ethnic and tribal graduates, graduates of religious schools in Kabul, and fourteenth-grade graduates.

The announcement of the entrance exam results comes amid serious challenges facing higher education in the country over recent years. Restrictions imposed by the Taliban on girls’ education have caused widespread concern and continue to cast uncertainty over equal access to higher education.
