Significant Progress Made on Jowshir–Pul Artel Secondary Road in Kabul

Construction of the foundational layers of the Jowshir to Pul Artel secondary road in District 2 of Kabul city is progressing significantly. Project officials have announced that this section will soon be ready for asphalt paving. Once completed, the project will play an important role in reducing traffic congestion in central Kabul areas, particularly the Deh Afghanan neighborhood.
Currently, the asphalt paving of one lane of this road has been completed and it is open for vehicle traffic. According to officials, the operation of this section has already contributed to a relative decrease in traffic density in the area.
The project is designed to be 860 meters long and 45 meters wide, including construction of a water canal, retaining walls, sidewalks, green spaces, a lighting system, road markings, and other specifications of a standard urban road.
Project officials say that the lack of an alternative route during construction and the presence of several urban utility networks along the route have been major challenges for the project’s implementation. Despite these difficulties, the work is continuing according to the scheduled timeline.
