Kabul and Moscow Hold Talks to Expand Bilateral Cooperation

Diplomatic officials from Afghanistan and Russia have met in an official session to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of regional interactions with Afghanistan’s participation. The meeting focused on political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian relations. According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexey Pavlovsky, Head of the Second Department of the Asian Section of the Ministry, met with Abdulhai Qanat, the Third Political Director of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides emphasized developing cooperation across various sectors and increasing regional coordination during the talks. The released statement noted that the parties exchanged views on expanding regional interactions involving Afghanistan. However, no specific details about agreements or an implementation timeline for these cooperations were provided. These discussions come at a time when the Taliban administration is seeking to broaden its diplomatic relations with regional countries, especially Russia. Despite these contacts, the official recognition of the Taliban administration by many countries remains unresolved, and interactions continue primarily within the framework of working relations.
