White House Confirms Iran-US Talks Mediated by Qatar and Pakistan in Doha

The White House has announced that Iranian and American delegations present in Doha, the capital of Qatar, will engage in separate technical talks mediated by third parties, with no direct meeting between the two sides planned. According to an official who spoke to CNN, these sessions will be held with the involvement of mediators from Qatar and Pakistan.
The report states that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, envoys of US President Donald Trump, are also expected to meet with Qatar’s Prime Minister and other mediators in Doha. The purpose of these meetings is to review the progress of the negotiations and coordinate related matters.
Earlier, Majid Al Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the presence of US envoys in Doha but emphasized that no direct meeting would take place between them and Iranian officials. He noted that the talks are being conducted through intermediaries.
Meanwhile, Esmail Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in a press conference that no meetings at any level with the US side are planned in the coming days. He explained that what is set to occur in Doha involves discussions on implementing certain provisions of a memorandum of understanding, including the issue of unfreezing Iranian assets, and that these talks will be held with Qatari parties.
In recent years, Doha has become known as a key hub for mediation in regional and international tensions and has frequently hosted indirect talks between Tehran and Washington.
