Ravadaari Condemns Pakistan Airstrikes as Clear Violations of Humanitarian Law

Ravadaari has condemned recent Pakistani airstrikes in the provinces of Kunar, Paktia, and Paktika, stating that targeting residential areas and causing civilian casualties constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

In a statement released on Tuesday, 9th Saratan, the organization emphasized that attacks on civilians and aid workers are blatant breaches of the principles separating military from civilian targets, the precautionary measures in military operations, and the necessities outlined in international humanitarian law and the four Geneva Conventions.

Ravadaari has called on the international community and global institutions to document these events thoroughly and take immediate actions to prosecute those responsible, as well as implement measures to prevent recurrence of such attacks. The organization underscored the responsibility of states to uphold their international obligations.

Two nights ago, the Pakistani military conducted airstrikes on parts of these three provinces. According to statistics provided by the Taliban administration, at least 36 people, including women and children, were killed, and 163 others were injured as a result of these attacks.

The strikes on border areas have consistently raised concerns regarding the protection of civilian residents and adherence to international humanitarian law principles, which emphasize safeguarding non-combatants during armed conflicts.
