Herat Residents Condemn Pakistan’s Recent Attacks on Afghan Border Provinces

Residents of Herat province have strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent attacks on parts of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces, describing them as violations of human principles and international law. Highlighting the martyrdom and injuries of civilians, they emphasized that targeting non-combatants under any circumstance is unjustifiable.
According to Taliban officials, these attacks have resulted in the deaths of 36 civilians and injuries to 163 others. Additionally, three residential houses were completely destroyed, raising concerns over the security of border areas.
Herat residents have urged the Taliban administration to take a firm and responsible stance against these attacks and to protect the lives and property of citizens. They stressed that ensuring public safety and preventing the recurrence of such incidents is a fundamental responsibility of any governing authority.
They also called on international organizations and human rights defenders not to remain silent in the face of civilian casualties and violations of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and to take practical measures to prevent similar attacks. They believe that global indifference could increase the vulnerability of civilians in border regions.
