Taliban’s Disaster Preparedness Authority Highlights Staff Capacity Building

The Taliban’s General Directorate of Disaster Preparedness announced the launch of a technical and professional training program aimed at enhancing the capacity of financial and administrative managers of provincial offices. The program was held with the presence of Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the head of the directorate, Mawlawi Abdullah Mohammadi, the financial and administrative chief, section commanders, and a number of staff members.
According to the directorate’s press office newsletter, the main goal of the program is to strengthen the scientific, specialized, and professional abilities of financial and administrative officials in the provinces. In Afghanistan’s administrative structure, provincial directorates play a key role in managing natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and landslides in various parts of the country.
At the beginning of the program, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi referred to verses from the Quran and prophetic sayings, emphasizing the importance of training, capacity building, and enhancing work skills. He urged participants to use this opportunity to increase their knowledge and improve their work methods in order to provide “standard and higher-quality” services to the residents.
The head of the General Directorate of Disaster Preparedness also announced plans to hold similar seminars for employees of all provincial directorates in the near future. He stated that participants should apply their newly acquired knowledge upon returning to their provinces to improve administrative and financial affairs and deliver better services to the people.
