Ghazni Hosts Exhibition Featuring 500 Artworks by Young Women

A three-day art exhibition organized by two female artists was held in Ghazni province, showcasing nearly 500 pieces created by about 70 young women artists. The organizers stated that the event aimed to highlight women’s artistic talents and convey messages related to the month of Muharram.

The exhibition displayed various works, including calligraphy, painting, handicrafts, and other artistic productions. Organizers emphasized that art has a historical background in Ghazni, and in recent years, the market for painting and visual arts has flourished more than before.

Some of the participating young women artists appealed to relevant authorities to support their activities. According to them, organizing such exhibitions can help strengthen girls’ artistic skills and foster the growth of painting, calligraphy, and other art disciplines.

In recent years, the extensive restrictions imposed by the Taliban administration on women’s education and social presence have caused serious concerns about the future of cultural and artistic activities for girls. However, the participating artists stressed that continuing such programs could prevent the fading of women’s roles in the cultural domain.

Ghazni’s Directorate of Information and Culture described the exhibition as an important step toward promoting culture and announced plans to organize more exhibitions this year. Officials from the directorate stated their commitment to supporting local art and artists.
