Resistance Front Claims Killing Two Taliban Members in Herat Operation

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has announced that two members of the Taliban administration were killed during a targeted operation in Herat province. According to the front, the incident took place on Friday evening, June 26, at the ‘Herat-Kandahar Ring Road Junction’ in Guzara district.
In a statement published on social media platform X, the front stated that the targeted individuals were Taliban patrol fighters. The National Resistance Front added that during the operation, two weapons belonging to these individuals were also seized by its forces.
According to these claims, the deceased were affiliated with the ‘Mobile Reconnaissance Unit of the First Al-Farooq Army Corps’ of the Taliban administration. The front also emphasized that no civilian or its own forces were harmed during the operation.
The National Resistance Front stressed that it will continue its targeted attacks across various parts of the country, describing its objective as “liberating the people and the country from the illegitimate rule of the Taliban group.” The Taliban administration has yet to respond to the claim.
In recent months, reports have emerged of an increase in sporadic clashes between the National Resistance Front forces and Taliban-affiliated individuals in certain provinces; a situation that has raised concerns about ongoing insecurity and its impact on local residents’ lives.
