World Food Programme: Indonesian Donated Biscuits Become Main Nutrition Source for Many Afghan Children

The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced that the enriched biscuits donated by Indonesia currently constitute the most nutritious daily meal for a large number of children in Afghanistan. On Thursday, June 25, WFP expressed its gratitude for Indonesia’s assistance in a message posted on its X (formerly Twitter) page.
According to the World Food Programme, these donations are more than just a simple snack; they play a direct role in supporting the education, health, and development of children who face severe food shortages in many parts of the country.
WFP’s office in Afghanistan also announced yesterday that it had received packages of enriched biscuits from the Indonesian embassy in Kabul. These packages are intended for distribution among children in need.
Afghanistan is currently grappling with one of the deepest humanitarian crises, with over 20 million people requiring immediate aid. Ongoing economic restrictions, widespread unemployment, and poor management by the Taliban administration in key sectors have made access to sufficient food increasingly difficult for families, leading to a growing reliance of millions of children on foreign assistance.
