Afghanistan’s Saffron Exports Increase by 10%

Officials report that Afghanistan’s saffron exports have increased by 10 percent compared to last year. This product is considered one of the country’s most important exports and holds a special position in global markets.

The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has announced that in recent years, the cultivation, production, and export of saffron have seen significant growth. According to this body, this trend has led to a stronger presence of Afghan saffron in international markets.

Meanwhile, several members of the private sector cite the high quality of Afghan saffron and increasing demand in global markets as the main factors behind the growth in exports of this product. They believe that focusing on quality standards, proper packaging, and better access to target markets can further expand export opportunities.

Due to its high economic value and low water requirement, saffron has emerged in recent years as an important alternative to some traditional crops in several provinces of the country, playing a significant role in generating income for farmers.
