Residents of Dishu District in Helmand Demand Reconstruction of Collapsed Road

Residents of Dishu district in Helmand province say that due to the collapse and unclear path of a road in the district, travel has become dangerously risky. They have called on the Taliban administration to promptly begin reconstruction of the road.
According to local residents, the vast desert areas in Dishu and the lack of a clear, standard route have caused travelers to get lost along the way. They add that seasonal storms and shortages of water and food in the desert threaten people’s lives.
The residents emphasize that this road plays a vital role in daily commuting, transporting patients, and local trade, and neglecting it has increased economic and social problems. They believe that providing basic infrastructure is the responsibility of the Taliban administration, and delays in rebuilding this route have placed the people in a more vulnerable situation.
Dishu district is located in southern Helmand, and due to the scattered villages and long distances between residential areas, having a standard road is especially important for its inhabitants.
