Construction Begins on New Facilities at Daman Terminal in Kandahar

The Taliban administration says construction has begun on new facilities at the Daman terminal in Kandahar province, a project it says will be carried out at a cost of 260 million afghanis.

According to the Taliban-run Ministry of Transport and Aviation, the project includes the construction of 250 shops, two fuel tanks, two restaurants, a car wash and more than 50 commercial offices. The ministry said work on the project will be completed within 16 months.

The Taliban administration did not release details about the source of funding for the project or how the facilities will be operated.

The Daman terminal in Kandahar province is considered one of the important transit and transport hubs in southern Afghanistan.
