Central Maidan Wardak Mosque Completed at Cost of 87 Million Afghanis

The National Development Company has announced that the construction of the central Grand Mosque in Maidan Wardak province has been fundamentally completed and, following the completion process, has been put into operation. According to the company, the project cost 87 million Afghanis to implement.

Based on information published on the company’s official page on the social network X, the mosque has a capacity to accommodate about two thousand worshippers. Additionally, a funeral hall with a capacity of 750 people, an equipped room, a deep drinking water well, and a large reservoir have also been constructed within the framework of this project.

The National Development Company, which operates under the administration of the Taliban, stated that this project was carried out in line with the development and reconstruction of religious and cultural centers. However, no details have been provided regarding the budget’s utilization and the oversight process for the project’s implementation; a matter that citizens have consistently demanded transparency about in public project funding.

Maidan Wardak province is located in the center of the country, where residents have long faced a shortage of standard infrastructure in various sectors. The completion of such projects can meet some of the religious and social needs of the people of this province, although it is expected that necessary attention will also be paid to other vital sectors.
