961 Families Return from Iran, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Pakistan, Register at Border Crossings

The Commission for Addressing Migrant Issues announced that on Friday, 961 families returned and were registered at the border crossings of Torkham, Weshkho Road, Spin Boldak, and Islam Qala, coming from Iran, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and Pakistan. According to the commission, the registration and management process for these families took place at the border checkpoints, and some of them were transferred to their main provinces after completing initial procedures. Officials added that cash assistance was distributed to the returning families, along with health services, telecommunications support, and food supplies. The Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings, located in the east and south of the country respectively, are among the most important border points with Pakistan. Islam Qala is also a key route for movement between Afghanistan and Iran. These routes have seen an increase in the movement of returning migrants in recent months.
