Putin to Visit China for Official Two-Day Trip on Tuesday

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, will embark on an official two-day visit to China this Tuesday. According to the ministry, the trip is taking place at the formal invitation of Xi Jinping, the President of China.
Moscow stated that the two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations, ways to deepen comprehensive strategic partnership, and expand strategic cooperation between Russia and China. Key regional issues will also be central to their talks.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that Putin and Xi will participate in the official opening ceremony of the “Russia-China Academic Year 2026-2027,” a program launched to develop scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Following the talks, a high-level joint statement will be issued, and several bilateral intergovernmental documents are expected to be signed.
This visit comes about a week after Donald Trump, President of the United States, traveled to China and met with Xi Jinping. Their discussions reportedly focused on economic relations, the Taiwan issue, and developments related to the Iran war.
