Eric Trump Files Lawsuit Against US Network Over China Trip Conflict of Interest Report

Eric Trump, son of US President Donald Trump, has announced that he will sue the American network MS NOW and anchor Jen Saki over a report alleging a possible conflict of interest during his recent trip to China. He called the report “false” and denied any business ties to China.

Jen Saki, in the program “Briefing,” cited a Financial Times report stating that ALT5 Sigma, a Las Vegas-based financial technology company which Eric Trump allegedly served as a board observer for, is pursuing a potential contract with a Chinese chip manufacturer to build AI data centers and related projects. The program questioned whether this potential business interest coinciding with the president’s sensitive trip to China might constitute a conflict of interest.

Eric Trump wrote on the social media platform X that he was never a board member of ALT5 and described the claims as “blatant lies.” He emphasized that he has no business interests in China and has not been involved in any merger negotiations or activities connected to public entities.

According to a previous Bloomberg report, Eric Trump’s name has been removed from ALT5’s leadership page. Nonetheless, he said that anyone with access to the company’s official documents can verify the accuracy of his claims.

Eric Trump also explained that his presence on the China trip was purely personal, accompanying his father. He noted that during the time of bilateral negotiations, he and his wife, Lara Trump, visited the Great Wall of China.

Several prominent American business figures were also present on this trip, including Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Larry Fink, Kelly Oubre Jr., Jane Fraser, Jensen Huang, and David Solomon, who were seen disembarking from the presidential aircraft.

The Trump family’s business activities during Donald Trump’s presidency have consistently drawn media and critics’ attention. Some critics have previously expressed concern over potential exploitation of political positions for family gain, a claim the Trump family has denied.
