Taliban’s Noorullah Noori Emphasizes Respect for All Afghan Citizens

Mullah Noorullah Noori, acting head of the Ministry of Borders, Nations and Tribes under the Taliban government, stated in a meeting with influential figures and some former officials that the ministry’s leaders consider all Afghan citizens, both inside and outside the country, as their ‘subjects’ and regard them with respect.
According to the ministry’s newsletter, he highlighted the important role of all Afghans in the country’s reconstruction and development. He added that the existing personnel and capacities within the country are valuable to the Taliban administration because, in his view, these capacities can play an effective role in strengthening the economy and consolidating national unity.
Meanwhile, sources reported that the influential attendees and former officials participating in this gathering put forward proposals and viewpoints aimed at improving coordination and greater cohesion in civilian and military affairs of the regime.
These remarks come amid ongoing calls over recent years from numerous citizens and civil society organizations demanding inclusive participation, the safeguarding of fundamental rights, and the establishment of accountable structures by the Taliban government—demands that continue to be subjects of debate at both national and international levels.
