Herat Clothing Exports Worth $80,000 Shipped to Iraq for the First Time

Local officials in Herat province have announced that a shipment of clothing valued at 80,000 US dollars has been exported from this province to Iraq. According to them, these products were prepared by a clothing manufacturing company in Herat, marking the first time the company’s products have reached markets outside Afghanistan.
Representatives of the manufacturing company stated that in the initial phase, 20,000 pairs of clothing were produced, packaged, and exported to Iraq. They emphasized that the production and export process will continue in subsequent stages.
According to the company officials, based on a contract signed with an Iranian trader, the next phase will involve the production and export of an additional 200,000 pairs of clothing to the Iraqi market.
Herat, located in western Afghanistan, is considered one of the country’s important industrial and commercial centers. In recent years, several manufacturing factories in the province have sought to expand regional markets and increase their exports.
