Sharp Rise in Gaza Death Toll Over Past 48 Hours Amid Ongoing Israeli Attacks

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that at least 17 Palestinians have been killed in the past 48 hours due to Israeli military attacks. This brings the total number of fatalities in the conflict since October 2023 to 72,585. According to the report, the number of injured has also risen to 172,370.
In a statement, the ministry added that since October 2025, following ceasefire violations by Tel Aviv, 809 people have been killed and 2,267 others wounded. Gaza health officials have described the current situation as unprecedented, noting that pressure on hospitals and medical centers continues unabated.
Official statistics show that 249 Palestinians were killed in Gaza in the 17 days following the cessation of the Iran war, compared to 46 in the 17 days before. These figures indicate that the death toll in this period has increased more than fivefold.
The Gaza Ministry of Health stressed that the continuation of military attacks and rising casualties have further complicated the humanitarian situation in the besieged area, pushing urgent health and humanitarian needs to unprecedented levels.
