Turkey and Taliban Agree to Establish New Educational Center in Khost

A delegation from the Turkish Educational Foundation pledged on Saturday, during a meeting with Abdullah Mukhtar, the Taliban-appointed governor of Khost, to build a new school in the province. The school will provide education for students from seventh to twelfth grade.

Ahmad Tokur, head of the delegation, stated that their goal is to establish a quality educational center in Khost where adolescents can complete their secondary and high school education in a suitable learning environment.

In response, the Taliban-appointed governor of Khost promised full cooperation to realize this project.

This development comes amid widespread restrictions on the education of girls beyond the sixth grade in Afghanistan, a matter that has consistently drawn both domestic and international criticism. It is expected that any educational investment in the country will be managed in a way that guarantees fair access to education for all students, especially girls.
