Taliban Ministry Distributes 12.6 Billion Afghanis to Needy Families in 2025

The Taliban’s Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled has announced that in the year 2025, a total of 12.6 billion Afghanis in cash assistance was distributed to approximately 650,000 orphans, widows, and disabled individuals across the country.
According to the published information, these aids were provided to eligible recipients in various provinces under the Ministry’s support programs. No further details were given regarding the criteria for identifying qualified individuals or the distribution mechanism for these funds.
The Ministry also stated that, in coordination with charitable organizations, food and non-food assistance valued at 9.79 million US dollars was delivered to vulnerable families.
While providing aid to needy groups is considered essential amid the country’s difficult economic conditions, some experts continuously emphasize the importance of transparency, effective oversight, and fair distribution of such assistance to ensure that the rights of orphans, widows, and disabled persons are equitably upheld.
