Etihad Airways to Operate Daily Flights Between Kabul and Abu Dhabi Starting May

Etihad Airways has announced that, starting May 1st of this year, it will operate daily flights between Kabul and Abu Dhabi. This decision comes in response to the increased passenger demand on this route.

About a month ago, Etihad Airways resumed its flights to Kabul with four weekly flights. Now, company officials say the remarkable passenger turnout has led to an expanded flight schedule, offering daily services.

According to the airline, the Kabul–Abu Dhabi route is not only important for direct travel between the two cities but also serves as a crucial transit corridor for passengers intending to travel to other countries through Etihad Airways’ global network.

Passengers can connect via Sheikh Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi to major destinations such as London, Frankfurt, Charlotte, Toronto, and Washington. This air connection facilitates Afghanistan’s access to Europe and North America.

Currently, 12 international airlines operate flights to Kabul, and the increased services by Etihad Airways could impact the activity in the aviation sector as well as commercial and family travel.

The United Arab Emirates hosts one of the largest Afghan communities in the Gulf region, with hundreds of thousands of Afghan citizens living and working there, highlighting the growing significance of the Kabul–Abu Dhabi air route.
