Afghan Police Seize Over 160 Kilograms of Narcotics in Four Provinces

Police forces in four Afghan provinces—Nangarhar, Farah, Kandahar, and Kabul—have discovered and confiscated a total of 160 kilograms of narcotics during separate operations. In Nangarhar, 52 kilograms were seized; in Farah, 58 kilograms; in Kandahar, 30 kilograms; and in areas related to Kabul province, 20 kilograms of drugs were recovered by police.
Additionally, nine individuals have been arrested on charges of trafficking and selling narcotics. After legal files are prepared, these individuals will be handed over to judicial authorities for further investigation.
Given the widespread presence of narcotics and the growth of trafficking, these incidents highlight the ongoing illegal activities in the mentioned regions, which have negative consequences for security and public health. While the Taliban administration is responsible for internal security, such operations underscore the urgent need to establish more effective mechanisms to control and combat narcotics.
