Transit Traffic at Nimroz’s Silk Bridge Border Crossing Moves to 24-Hour Operation

The Silk Bridge border commissariat in Nimroz province has announced, for the first time since the start of operations, 24-hour transit traffic for trucks between the Silk Bridge border crossing and the Milak crossing in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province. The move is aimed at facilitating the transit of goods, speeding up the transfer of commercial shipments and creating better conditions for drivers and traders.
Previously, about 400 trucks carrying imported and exported goods passed through the crossing each day, but with the launch of round-the-clock operations, that figure has risen to nearly 800 trucks per day. Extending working hours at this border crossing could have significant economic implications for business operators, but security monitoring and queue management remain highly important.
The Silk Bridge border crossing in Nimroz province is considered one of the most important transit routes between Afghanistan and Iran, and the extension of its operating hours could affect the flow of imports and exports.
