Taliban border police officials stress discipline and accountability

Taliban officials at a meeting of commanders of the General Border Police Command stressed the need for discipline, order and accountability among personnel, an issue that directly affects public access to services in service departments.
According to the Taliban administration, Mawlawi Abdul Rahim (Ahmad), the chief of border police, urged personnel to pay attention to orderly attendance, the “honest” performance of duties, and to avoid negligence and carelessness. He also stressed “fair and respectful” treatment of service users.
The Taliban official further raised the importance of congregational prayers and sharing “constructive suggestions” from personnel to improve affairs.
Mawlawi Abdul Manan Hassan, the Taliban administration’s deputy border police commander, also called on personnel to carry out their duties with honesty and sincerity and to cooperate with officials to improve work processes.
The border police are among the security bodies responsible for managing and controlling border crossings and movement at checkpoints, and the decisions and methods of this institution have a direct impact on the daily lives of people in border areas and on those using the crossings.
