Old Mortar Shell Explosion Kills Three Children in Khogyani

Nangarhar police say an explosion caused by an old mortar shell in the Zawi area of Khogyani district killed three children and wounded another.

Sayed Tayyeb Hamad, spokesman for Nangarhar police command, said the children were playing with the rusted shell when the munition exploded after impact. He said the injured child was taken to hospital for treatment.
