Afghan United Front Claims Blast at Taliban Governor’s Office in Ghor

The Afghan United Front has claimed responsibility for an explosion at the office of the Taliban administration’s governor in Firozkoh, the capital of Ghor province. The group said one of the governor’s guards was killed and eight others were wounded in the incident. Taliban officials have so far not commented on the claim.

Taliban-linked media reported that a person accused of throwing a grenade at the office was shot and killed while fleeing. According to these reports, a child was also injured in the incident and Taliban forces arrested at least 10 people on suspicion of involvement in the blast.

Hajaz, the Taliban intelligence media outlet, identified the killed man as Ata Mohammad and published an image of a man’s body next to a motorcycle. The outlet said he was shot while trying to escape after throwing the grenade.

The Afghan United Front claimed responsibility for the explosion in a video posted on the social media platform X, but did not comment on the person whom Taliban intelligence media identified as the perpetrator. Earlier, local sources had reported a powerful explosion in Firozkoh.
