Ship Traffic Through Strait of Hormuz Falls to Three Vessels a Day

Ship-tracking data show that the number of vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz fell to three yesterday, a figure that marks a sharp drop compared with recent days.

Sputnik reported that the number stood at 12 the day before. According to the report, the latest recorded figure is far below the 10-day average of about 17 vessels.

The decline in traffic along this route is being reported as the Strait of Hormuz is regarded as one of the region’s strategic shipping passages. The waterway is of major importance for energy transport and the movement of commercial ships.
