United Front says it killed Taliban police member in Kandahar

The Afghanistan United Front has claimed that, in continuation of attacks by anti-Taliban forces, it killed a police member of the Taliban administration in the city of Kandahar.

The front wrote on its X page early on Wednesday, 25 Sunbula, that the incident took place as a result of a “targeted operation.” According to the front, the individual targeted was a member of the Taliban administration’s police forces.

According to the United Front’s claim, the attack was carried out in the Baghpul bazaar area of Kandahar city. The Taliban administration has so far said nothing about the claim.

A day earlier, the United Front had also claimed that it killed two Taliban fighters in Nad Ali district of Helmand province. In recent months, reports have emerged of an increase in attacks by anti-Taliban forces in a number of provinces across the country.

Kandahar is considered one of the Taliban administration’s key centres, and any security incident in this city attracts greater attention from both symbolic and security perspectives.
