Ghazni Police Say 272kg of Drugs Seized in Anti-Smuggling Operation

Ghazni provincial police said narcotics officers had arrested one person in Ghazni city’s first police district with 272 kilograms of narcotics.

According to the force, the detained man had planned to smuggle the drugs to an unknown location. Police did not release further details about the type of narcotics or the likely route of transportation.

The Ghazni police command said the man is now under investigation and will be handed over to judicial authorities once the case file is completed.

Ghazni is one of Afghanistan’s provinces located along important transport routes, and a number of drug smuggling incidents in the province have been reported before.
