Russia Says It Struck Ukrainian Military Infrastructure and Downed 1,120 Drones

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces targeted fuel, energy and transport infrastructure used by the Ukrainian army over the past 24 hours. According to the ministry, positions of Ukrainian troops were also hit in the attacks.
Citing TASS, the ministry said in a statement that the strikes were carried out using operational-tactical aircraft, attack drones, missile forces and artillery. The statement said an air defence radar station, drone assembly workshops and storage sites for drones and their components were also targeted.
The ministry also claimed that Russian forces struck temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign forces allied with Kyiv at 159 locations. No independent details have been released on the extent of possible damage or casualties from the attacks.
The Defence Ministry added that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 1,120 Ukrainian drones, eight guided bombs and four US-made HIMARS rockets during the same period.
It also claimed that the Ukrainian army lost about 1,355 soldiers over the past day in fighting along the entire front line. There has been no independent confirmation of that figure either.
TASS is Russia’s state news agency, and since the start of the war in Ukraine, both sides have regularly released conflicting figures on military losses and damage, which in many cases cannot be independently verified.
