Rickshaw overturns in Afghanistan’s Laghman, killing three and injuring three

At least three people have been killed and three others injured after a rickshaw overturned into a river in the Tangi Abrisham area of Laghman province.

The Taliban-run police command in Laghman said in a statement on Sunday, 1 Sonbula, that the traffic incident occurred because of the rickshaw driver’s carelessness.

According to the Taliban authorities, the fatalities included the rickshaw driver, as well as a father and son. Three other people, including a woman, were also injured in the incident.

Local Taliban officials said the injured had been taken to hospital for treatment. Tangi Abrisham is one of the areas in Laghman province where traffic accidents are occasionally reported on its roads.
