Ukraine Sought Starlink Access for Drone Strikes on Russia, FT Says

Ukraine has been seeking permission to use Starlink satellite internet to direct drone attacks against Russian territory, the Financial Times reported, citing informed sources.
According to the report, the request came as Ukraine faces a severe shortage of air defence systems, and President Volodymyr Zelensky has tried to secure approval from Elon Musk, the owner of Starlink, to use the system in drone operations.
The Financial Times also said, citing its sources, that US President Donald Trump did not back the plan and that Musk is not expected to grant such permission.
Starlink is a satellite internet system owned by SpaceX that has been used repeatedly as a communications tool on the battlefield in the Ukraine war, and its role in military operations has previously been controversial.
