Nangarhar agricultural company expects higher date harvest this year

Officials at the Nangarhar agricultural company, Nangarhar Wali Ziraati Amirati, say they expect the date harvest from the company’s orchards this year to be higher than last year.

According to these officials, about 19 tonnes of dates were collected from these orchards last year, and the harvest is expected to increase this year. They attributed the rise to the timely implementation of agricultural and technical measures.

The company officials also said the dates produced are transported to various provinces across the country. According to them, six varieties of dates are grown in these orchards.

The company added that it plans to expand the area of its date orchards in the coming years. Nangarhar is one of Afghanistan’s eastern provinces and, because of its relatively warm climate, is considered suitable for growing some fruits, including dates.
