Israeli Drone Strike on Vehicle in Damascus Countryside Leaves One Injured

Syrian sources reported that an Israeli drone strike on a vehicle on the road between Mazraat Beit Jinn and the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside injured the driver. According to a Syrian television reporter, the incident took place around midday today, and the injured person was taken to a hospital in the same area.

No details have yet been released about the identity of the person targeted in the attack. It is also unclear what the purpose of the strike was.

The attack comes as, according to Syrian sources, Israeli forces continue to carry out operations in southern Syria. These reports say they set up temporary checkpoints during these movements, search vehicles and civilians, raid homes, and detain a number of residents.

The same sources also said that in some areas, land has been bulldozed and military bases and surveillance cameras have been installed. According to these sources, drone and artillery strikes on some areas have also continued from time to time.

Meanwhile, some sources previously said that Damascus is avoiding direct confrontation with Tel Aviv and is trying to prevent the escalation of tensions. According to these sources, Syrian officials believe Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to draw Syria into a new conflict, a country that after years of war and destruction is unable to enter another war.

The Damascus countryside is considered one of the important surrounding areas of the Syrian capital, and Beit Jinn is located in the southwest of this province, near sensitive border areas, a region that has also repeatedly witnessed security tensions in recent years.
