Taliban Express Condolences After Deadly Earthquake in Indonesia

The Taliban administration has expressed sympathy with victims of the deadly earthquake in Indonesia after a strong quake in eastern Indonesia killed at least 53 people and forced about 5,000 others to leave their homes.
The magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck Flores island and surrounding areas on Saturday, causing casualties and displacing a number of residents.
In a statement, the Taliban administration’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it expressed its sorrow and condolences to the government and people of Indonesia. The ministry also wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.
Flores island is located in eastern Indonesia, a country that, because of its position on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has repeatedly seen powerful earthquakes and deadly natural disasters.
