Iranian army chief offers reward for killing or detaining U.S. troops
Iran’s army commander has announced a new plan offering cash rewards to anyone who kills, detains and hands over a U.S. soldier.
According to his remarks, the reward will be $30,000 or 5 billion tomans.
He said the plan had been prepared in the army with the “participation and funding of the people,” in response to what he described as “calls to participate in financial jihad.” He said the Islamic Republic of Iran’s army would guarantee payment of the reward.
The Iranian army chief also announced that women who can carry out such an action will receive twice that amount. He added that the weapon of a person who kills a U.S. soldier will be bought for twice its purchase price, and a new weapon will also be provided.
He went on to say, referring to the United States, that if its forces “make a mistake” in Iran, they will face a response. According to him, the weapon used in these incidents is to be kept in a museum that has already been planned.
The Iranian army is one of the country’s official military institutions, and its commander-in-chief is among the senior military officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
