Haibatullah in Kandahar Rejects ‘Un-Islamic’ Demands

Haibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban administration, has once again rejected what he called “un-Islamic demands” during a meeting in Kandahar, and urged people not to be influenced by the “propaganda” of opponents of the administration.

The Kandahar Department of Information and Culture said in a statement that Haibatullah made the remarks last night at a gathering at the Kandahar military airfield. According to the department, he also said the Taliban administration would remain committed to what he described as the “divine and religious rights of the people” rather than accept “unwarranted orders.”

According to the statement, the leader of the Taliban administration once again stressed unity and obedience. Senior civilian and military officials from Kandahar province also attended the meeting.

Since the Taliban administration returned to power, Kandahar has been regarded as one of its main centres of decision-making, and a number of important positions taken by the administration’s leader have been announced from the province.
