Australia Urges Full Role for Women and Girls in Afghanistan’s Future

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong has said that a peaceful and stable Afghanistan will only be possible when all citizens of the country, including women and girls, can fully take part in building its future.
Emphasising the participation of all sections of society in Afghanistan’s future-building process, she said lasting peace and stability are not possible without the broad inclusion of citizens.
The Australian official highlighted the role of women and girls at a time when the Taliban administration’s restrictions on women’s education, work and social presence remain among the main concerns of the international community over the situation in Afghanistan.
