Ansarullah Official Accuses Saudi Arabia of Fueling Regional Crises

Abdulwahid Abu Ras, deputy foreign minister in Yemen’s Ansarullah government, has accused Saudi Arabia of fuelling crises in several regional countries in order to divert attention away from the Palestinian issue.

He told Al Masirah that some Arab regimes, particularly Saudi Arabia, are drawing nations into draining conflicts and using their power and resources in a way that, he said, serves Zionist projects in the region.

Abu Ras claimed that Riyadh’s policies, from Yemen to Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Iraq and Somalia, are based on creating crises and escalating conflicts so that public opinion and the capacities of regional countries remain focused away from Palestine.

He also said that instead of confronting Israel, Saudi Arabia mobilises its financial resources wherever, in his words, Zionist ambitions are present. The Ansarullah official added that whenever a nation seeks to prepare to support the Palestinians, Riyadh tries to embroil that country in internal problems.

Yemen’s Ansarullah is a political and military group controlling parts of Yemen, including Sanaa, and Al Masirah is also affiliated with the group.
