Taliban Begins Land Distribution to Disabled Forces in Helmand Province
The Taliban administration has announced the initiation of a land distribution program for its disabled members in Helmand province. In the initial phase, the program targets individuals who have lost two or more limbs in the war.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing told Tolonews that, in this phase, each eligible individual will be allocated five bighas of land. According to the ministry, the program will later be extended to other provinces.
This move comes amid ongoing discussions in the country regarding the prioritization criteria for land distribution and how other vulnerable groups can access land and housing.
Helmand is a southern province of Afghanistan that has witnessed extensive conflict over recent years, with a significant number of forces involved in the two-decade-long wars stationed there.
