Iraqi Islamic Resistance Delays Response to US and Saudi Attacks
The Iraqi Islamic Resistance announced in a statement that its pre-planned response to recent attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia on Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) headquarters has been postponed.
The statement said this decision was made following a request by Hadi Al-Amiri, head of the Badr Organization and the Fatah parliamentary coalition, as well as in response to the stances of certain political leaders. The group emphasized that the blood of the martyrs is not a matter for political bargaining and urged all parties to reconsider their approaches.
The Iraqi Islamic Resistance also warned that the United States and its regional allies should understand that, according to the group, the recent attacks will not go unanswered, and that Iraq’s sovereignty cannot be resolved through “conservative statements.”
Earlier, in a video message early Friday, Hadi Al-Amiri called on resistance forces to postpone any military response to the Saudi-American attacks in the interest of what he described as the “supreme interest of Iraq.” He stated that the rights of martyrs and the wounded would be pursued through diplomatic channels.
In the recent attacks on PMF headquarters, more than 50 people were killed or injured. The Popular Mobilization Forces are a coalition of Iraqi armed groups formed following the emergence of ISIS in the country.
