Baghlan Textile Factory Now Produces 30,000 Meters of Fabric Monthly
Officials at the Baghlan Textile Factory have announced that the factory currently produces about 30,000 square meters of fabric each month. This industrial unit, which had been shut down for nearly 12 years, resumed operations around three years ago.
According to the factory’s Technical and Operations Deputy, the production process begins with turning cotton into warp threads, which are then used to produce fabric. He stated that this production cycle is now running regularly.
Factory officials also reported ongoing efforts to repair and renovate machinery. They noted that alongside these efforts, new employees are being trained under the supervision of Afghan specialists to ensure the factory’s sustainable operation in the future.
The Baghlan Textile Factory was established in 1936 and began operation in 1942. It is regarded as one of Afghanistan’s key industrial institutions in past decades. Its long period of inactivity reflected a broader stagnation in the country’s industrial sector.
