Acting Minister of Higher Education Announces Efforts to Raise University Standards in Afghanistan
Sheikh Nida Mohammad Nadim, Acting Minister of Higher Education of the Taliban administration, announced that since the group’s return to power, special attention has been given to the higher education sector, and efforts to elevate the academic standards of universities are ongoing.
He made these remarks at the conclusion of a two-day joint leadership council meeting of the Ministry of Higher Education, public universities, and religious schools held at Kandahar University.
According to the Acting Minister of Higher Education, universities are responsible for training specialized personnel in fields such as agriculture, medicine, engineering, and economics, which are crucial for the country’s development.
He also emphasized that the Taliban administration aims to ensure that university graduates, in addition to their specialized training, are fully familiar with religious values, Islamic beliefs, ethics, and the prophetic biography.
The joint meeting was held amid the Taliban administration’s emphasis on greater coordination between educational institutions and religious schools, asserting that this approach will strengthen the country’s educational system.
