Bodies of 14 Badghis Residents Found After Death in Nimroz Desert Repatriated

The bodies of 14 residents from the Ghulgai village in Darah Bum district of Badghis province, who died while attempting to illegally cross into Iran through the deserts of Nimroz province, have been transferred back to their district.

According to a statement from the spokesman’s office of Badghis province, these individuals lost their way in the Nimroz deserts and succumbed to extreme heat, hunger, and thirst.

Local Taliban authorities in Badghis province reported that the transportation of the bodies was carried out using helicopters from the Ministry of Defense of the Taliban administration.

Taliban local officials in Badghis have expressed condolences to the victims’ families and extended their sympathies for the tragedy. Nimroz province is known as one of the main routes for Afghan migrants heading to Iran, and every year, many face serious dangers while crossing these desert paths.
