Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Warns Countries Supporting Aggressors of Tough Response Amid Rising Tensions in Strait of Hormuz

The Public Relations Office of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement warning countries that assist the “aggressor” that if they do not change their behavior, they will face a severe response. This warning comes as tensions escalate in the waters south of Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement also alleged that last night two oil tankers, reportedly provoked by American aircraft, attempted to exit through an unsafe passage south of the Strait of Hormuz. However, following a severe fire on one of the vessels, both ships changed course and returned.

The IRGC emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is “our territory” and that its naval forces maintain control over it. According to the statement, no “foreign entity coming from thousands of kilometers away” will be allowed to interfere.

The statement further noted that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed as long as, according to the IRGC, “the exaggerated remarks and threats by American officials and their interference in maritime movements in the region” continue. This situation could further complicate regional conditions. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most strategic oil transit routes, and any restrictions there could impact maritime transport in the region.
