Acting Head of Taliban’s Ministry of Migrants Stresses Permanent Integration of Returning Families
Amid the rising return of Afghan families to the country, the acting head of the Taliban’s Ministry of Migrants and Returnees has emphasized the permanent integration of returnees into society and called for the effective use of existing resources to support them.
According to the ministry, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, in a meeting with the heads of migrant affairs from Paktia, Logar, Zabul, and Paktika provinces, stated that creating conditions for housing and providing sustainable support to returnees must be a priority for officials.
He also instructed relevant authorities to expedite the distribution of food aid to needy families, who face livelihood challenges and shortages of basic necessities upon their return.
Meanwhile, the heads of migrant affairs in the mentioned provinces presented reports on the status of returnees. According to them, essential food and non-food items have so far been distributed to dozens of families, and a plan has been developed to continue the aid process.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Migrants discusses these support programs while many returnees in various provinces still face serious challenges regarding shelter, employment, and access to basic services.
