Putin Asserts Russia Will Achieve Its Goals in Ukraine Despite Western Sanctions
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow will achieve its objectives in the war in Ukraine, and Western pressures and sanctions will not prevent the country from fulfilling its plans.
Speaking on Monday to members of the Russian Duma, Putin described the past five years as “difficult and decisive” for Russia, adding that the Russian people support the military operation in Ukraine and will strive for its victory.
Referring to the extensive Western sanctions against Moscow, he said these restrictions have not weakened Russia but have also harmed the countries that imposed them. Putin also accused the West of attempting to exert pressure on Russia’s economy and scientific sector.
The Russian president praised what he called “internal cohesion” and cooperation among government institutions, noting that Duma representatives have made quick and effective decisions at critical moments. According to him, a new world order is taking shape amid intense competition and tension, and Moscow is ready to stand firm against any hostile actions.
